Some people fly thousands of miles across oceans, but for me, home is beneath buildings that touch the sun. The famous city of Las Vegas, Nevada; where smog lingered in the royal blue sky; and welcomed an advanced placement, honors, concurrent enrollment, and college student during all of my high school years; who eventually found a love for architecture. By the time I took my first steps on the Southern Utah University Campus, I had acquired a drafting certificate, desktop publishing one and two certificates, office certificates, an honors and high honors diploma, and several other prestigious awards. Some may say that learning, at least for me, never ends. Even during my final summer before attending SUU was spent attending Dixie Applied Technology College (DXATC). DXATC was one of my most recent learning experiences, where I received hands-on experience relating to my future career. The class started off hand drafting shapes, eventually teaching how to create an entire set of plans for a home or a business, whether it be on paper or on a computer aided drafting program. Luckily all of this hard work has been paving the way to my dream. Not only do I hope to be an architectural engineer, but I’m also working to be able to take care of my future family, as well as a life where I can live comfortably.  All in all, every story has a beginning and an end, and since I’m still in the middle, all I can do is focus on the long term goals. One of my favorite quotes states, ”Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get,” (Forrest Gump 1994) but so far I’m content with my options.
